Welcome to the Future of Everything You've Already Seen

What is Tina Yothers Sports? It's many things... and it's not many things.

It's not a place where we are going to sit around and discuss every serious sports story of the day - but not many sports blogs do that anyway. It's not going to be a clone of Deadspin, With Leather, or any of the others. There might be a pinch of Tony Homo here with the whole Tina Yother's thing, but I doubt you can keep Tina Yothers interesting and relevant for that long. I mean, if she can't do it, how the hell will we?

This blog will reek of homerism. It will reflect allegiances to the teams I root for across sports, mock the players and teams I dislike, and just try to add another voice to an already crowded and saturated landscape. A weird amount of attention will be given to pro teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Cowboys, Stars, and the Texas Rangers, as well as schools such as North Texas, Texas A&M, and Boston College. Dismissive, angry, unreasonable hate will be spewed on topics like Roger Clemens, Bob Huggins, the Phoenix Suns "revolutionizing basketball in a way the league hasn't seen Dallas and Sacramento did it four years ago," the Houston Astros and the National League, Bill Byrne and other exciting topics.

Tina Yothers gives me a forum to stop bugging my lady friends with "hey, guess how good the Mavs are doing - isn't 50 out of 54 crazy?" and "wait, let's not leave yet, it's going to a shoot out!" It will let me take a pot shots at people around my life who may not even have a clue why or who I am but will make me feel somehow vindicated. It will let me do something semi-constructive when I take that 20 minutes to eat my lunch at my desk and click around the world wide interweb. It can let me bring up non-sports topics like the greatness of Arrested Development, the reality of the Hills, jorts, and the douchosity of ESPN. It will let me overrate eating at Freebirds and cheering for Gilbert Arenas. It will help me rationalize why I never liked Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, and Pater Forsberg no matter how lucky I was to have seen them play.

If you can't tell from my roll of teams I follow, sports often kicks me in the balls based on these allegiances. I plan to capture that rage and pain and hopefully amuse not only my hardcore following of 4-5 people, but maybe bait in a douche bag who just wants to come gloat and add some anonymous misery. Bring it bitch. But know this, if you ever meet me face to face, I might glare at you very intently and maybe make a rude comment, then trash you later. Can you handle that?

So, with the NCAA football and basketball seasons firmly behind us, MLB just cranking up, and the NHL and NBA playoffs right around the corner, strap in or on or whatever it is you do, and get ready to ride the Tina Yothers tidal wave to glory.

I'm always up for doing some Tina Yothers riding.

Also, mine will forever list as the first comment on the first post ever. I officially have a legacy.

Where Tina Yothers ever convicted of raping Meridith Baxter Bernie?

Why would anyone say that they are another person and then comment on personal issues that are untrue? Are those people jealous of the people that they say they are? I don't really understand why another grown man would claim the identity of another man that they supposedly dislike in order to say things that are not untrue? Would someone please explain what kind of person would do that? Is it because they have never been in the arena and it is a lot easier to hate on others accomplishments that they never had the talent to do themselves? It is no one's fault except your parents that you were not talented enough to play and had to be a fan your entire life so why say mean things about others simply because you couldn't?

Um... What?

Try again, anonymous. Please be more precise, less vague, and more entertaining.

Example:

You are worthless and contribute nothing to the discourse on this website. Your prose is tedious, and your failure to come up with even a mildly clever posting identity is shameful.

Also, posting your horribly phrased and incomprehensible rhetorical questions under an anonymous header undermines what little I *could* understand (you disapprove of using a false identity to comment on real people and events) about whatever point you were trying to communicate.
