I am going to keep this very vague, because there is a privacy issue involved and I'm still holding on to very slim hopes that what I've been hearing today (both vaguely and specifically) isn't true.
A Todd Dodge-recruited offensive skill player has violated a very important rule monitored by North Texas. This may or may not result in a suspension on it's own terms through the school. However, this same rule is also monitored by the NCAA, and violation of the rule carries a mandatory suspension from them.
To avoid people speculating that it's the person who would immediately come to my mind if I read "Dodge recruit/Offensive skill player", I'll go ahead and say that the player in question is NOT Giovanni Vizza.
How sure are we that this story is legit? If not 100%, then very, very close. I have slight hopes that this will all turn out to be a big mistake, but given the alleged circumstances, I don't think this can be a misunderstanding.
I don't mean to frustrate Mean Green fans with vagueness. But on the very slim chance that this could be an error, I don't want to be any more specific. And I don't want to violate a student-athlete's privacy, even if they've broken this rule.
Suffice it to say, if this turns out to be correct, the good people in the legitimate media will be able to provide the appropriate details. If it's incorrect, I'll be glad not to have libeled anyone. And everyone will be free to call me a rumormongering jackass. I'll be very relieved and happy to be wrong.
In the meantime.. Everyone PLEASE stop saying that things couldn't possibly get any worse than whatever the present situation happens to be. Because I keep hearing it, and things keep getting worse.

You can tell blue lou can't you?
Ioannis,
Did Todd Dodge recruit the Morton Salt Girl? Can you disclose that much for blue lou and me? At least then we can begin our process of elimination and scratch Vizza and Sally Salt from the list of suspects.
Ioannis,
Page 6C in the October 2nd Dallas Morning News has an article by Brett Vito. It's easy to miss in the shadow of the half-page above the fold article about SMU.
Brett's "headline" says "No. 2 receiver leaves team, coach says". The article says in a quote from Todd Dodge, "Sam Dibrell decided that he does not want to play football on this team any more."
Is he the guy? Did he jump or was he pushed? blue lou and I need to know.
Let me guess, is the player from Alamo Heights?
Also, this post needed 35% more dick joke to be funny.
I expect you to work on that...
OMG WTF? Why didn't you stop this before it happened? We need more intervention from Tina. You need to start sending representatives to the 6:30 meetings. If you'll make me a shirt I'll volunteer for the job.
The Dick Joke component of this latest blog is severely lacking.
...I'm disappointed
